A BIOMEDICAL science student from Bromley College has received a prize for academic excellence at Rochester Cathedral.
Clare Bailey graduated with a first class honours degree and also won The Institute of Biomedical Science's (IBS) prestigious President's Prize. The award is reserved for exceptional students who have trained at centres accredited by the institute.
Clare's success was formally recognised at her graduation ceremony, where she was presented with the award and £100 prize money by a senior member of the IBS.
Clare said: "Finishing my degree with a first is a big achievement and I'm so proud to have been nominated for the prize.
"Biomedical science is a fantastic career if you're interested in science and want to help people."
Clare was just one Bromley College student with outstanding results.
Peter Reeves, director of teaching and learning, said: "We are proud of all our graduates, especially those who obtain first class honours, but in Clare's case she managed to achieve this while working full time at a hospital, so we believe she deserves the honour of the President's Prize."
