Headteachers celebrate with PM
THREE headteachers went to a reception at Downing Street to celebrate school leadership.
Pauline Sammon from St James Primary School, Petts Wood; Michelle Lewis from Alexandra
Infant School, Beckenham, and George Berwick from Ravens Wood School, Bromley, attended the event.
They were invited due to their involvement in a national programme to develop leadership in schools, particularly struggling ones.
The National College for School Leadership aims to improve the lives of children and young people by developing world-class school leaders.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families Ed Balls greeted them at the reception.
Miss Sammon said: "It was a privilege and honour to be invited to Downing Street, to participate in a ceremony celebrating excellent school leadership."
