Find out about your family history at Lewisham libraries
5:24pm Wednesday 25th April 2012 in Education News By Mark Chandler
PEOPLE in Lewisham wanting to trace their family history are being invited to get along to the library next month.
Libraries have teamed up with the familyhistorydetectives.co.uk website to promote family history in London, providing free access to online resources.
The initiative has been designed to support people living within their own communities, as they search for their family history.
Courses, trips, events and activities are being planned, as well as the availability of family history packs, kits and guides.
Free one-hour family history taster sessions will take place on May 17 at the Deptford Lounge from 10am, Catford at 12.30pm, Downham at 3pm and Manor House from 5.30pm.
Six week courses are planned to commence at libraries after the launch events.
