STUDENTS at Kelsey Park Sports College have been celebrating after achieving their best ever GCSE results.
Results overall showed a 60 per cent increase in performance compared to the grades awarded in previous years.
This year 46 per cent of pupils got five A* to C passes including English and maths, up from the 28 per cent who managed to achieve this last year.
All of the students involved in the school’s gifted and talented programme were awarded A* to C passes.
In total 67 per cent of the pupils received at least five A* to Cs.
Kelsey Park’s head teacher Brian Lloyd, said: “I want to congratulate all our students on their achievements. “These results show that the college is meeting the needs of our diverse community while at the same time ensuring our high achieving boys reach their potential.”
And one of the college’s governors John Getgood said: “I am delighted for everyone at the college.
“These results show that hard work and dedication by students and staff do bring rewards. “Kelsey Park is well placed to go from strength to strength.”
