CHISLEHURST: Rotary club celebrates foreign cultures

YOUNGSTERS from four schools celebrated aspects of life in America, Canada, Australia and China during a series of workshops.

The third annual Chislehurst Rotary in Schools Project day was organised by Chislehurst Rotary Club and saw 160 pupils from Red Hill Primary, Marjorie McClure School and Chislehurst Primary, all in Chislehurst, team up with pupils from Castlecombe Junior School in Mottingham.

Children learnt more about the cultures and traditions in foreign countries during workshops and drama presentations.

Rotary club president Janet Boylan said: “Without the support of local people for our fundraising fireworks event and the Santa sleigh collections, Chislehurst Rotary Club would not be able to fund and run events like this.

“The support of the public is always very much appreciated.”
