ORPINGTON: Tory hopeful Jo Johnson visits Orpington College

A parliamentary hopeful took a tour of Orpington College’s new £26m campus.

Prospective Tory MP Jo Johnson visited the further education college following the completion of its multi-million pound revamp.

He spoke to staff and pupils at the college in Orpington High Street and inspected the new facilities.

College principal Simon Norton said: “It was good having Mr Johnson visit the college to see our new state-of-the-art facilities first hand.

“I was also pleased that he had the chance to meet some of our staff and students.”

Mr Johnson, who is Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s brother, is replacing John Horam MP as the Conservative Party’s Orpington candidate at the next general election.

He said: “I look forward to working with Orpington College to help it achieve its full potential in the future.”
