PROTESTERS will be evicted from the roof of a school, two months after the demonstration began.
Lewisham Bridge Primary School, in Elmira Street, Lewisham, will be replaced with an all-age foundation school on the same site, due to open fully in spring 2011.
Since April 23, several mums and their supporters have been protesting on the school’s roof demanding students are returned to Elmira Street, after they were relocated in preparation for the building’s demolition.
However, the protesters were ordered off the school grounds after Lewisham Council was granted permission to evict them at a hearing at Bromley County Court on June 15.
Despite being given a week to leave voluntarily, the council issued an eviction notice today (June 22) giving the group until Wednesday (June 24) at 10.30am to come down before bailiffs are sent in.

What kind of example are they setting to their children?
Yet again the honest law abiding council tax payer of Lewisham has to pay the legal bill to evict the numpties who think they know best.
If they had a job and were working full time they wouldn't have the time to have their pathetic little pointless protest.
The new school will be bigger and better . . . . it’s called progress!
