Students from the University of Greenwich are running a 10-day drama festival at Woolwich Old Baths.
The festival running from March 8 to March 17 is the initiative of students from drama and business management departments.
Final year drama students will benefit from gaining experience of performing before the public and the events management students are learning how to market and promote a festival.
Local art groups including Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre have joined in the festivities and will be performing and running workshops for school children.
Head of Drama at the university Pippa Guard believes it could contribute to local regeneration.
She said: "The festival is a celebration of the enormous talent in the area and we hope it will become an annual festival of importance."
Tickets for the Woolwich Drama Festival are now on sale at the Greenwich Theatre box office or visit greenwichtheatre.org.uk for more information.
