AGE:

Course:
Clive's Easy Learn Pop
Where?
Holy Trinity, Sydenham
Period:
Saturdays, 1pm to 2pm
Entry onto the course:
There aren't any entry requirements, other than being over six years old.
Reasons for choosing the course:
I started doing piano three years ago and after a while I didn't enjoy it anymore. My mum told me about this course and it sounded
interesting. I had a free 15-minute trial and really enjoyed it.
Areas the course covers:
You can learn to play the guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and you can also learn to sing. You can try them all but I concentrate on the keyboard.
First we are taught basic notes and tunes. All those on the course learn the same song and then every couple of sessions we get together and
perform as a group.
The first 45 minutes of the lessons are taught and in the last 15 minutes we have a jamming' session.
The other students:
Everyone is nice. There is a lady in her 20s who is learning to sing and two boys, aged seven and nine, play the drums.
Atmosphere:
With my old piano teacher I only learned notes, but with this course I get to learn fun tunes. We can learn songs by Pink, The Kooks and Snow Patrol.
The future:
I am going to continue with the lessons and one day hope to perform in a band or maybe study music at university. I would like to be a performer like Alicia Keys.
