CHARLIE Elves ran for the Bexley Borough in the London Mini Marathon and raised just over £1250.00 for Great Ormond Street Childrens' Hospital.
It may not seem a huge achievement but Charlie, 12, suffers from Charcot Marie Tooth disease, a hereditary condition which gradually deforms the feet.
Charlie, of Ramillies Road, Blackfen, attends sessions at Guys and St.Thomas Hospital and has now been offered a three-hour operation to correct the shape of the bones.
Hopefully after six weeks with both feet in plaster the problem will be cured.
The youngster also plays football for Long Lane Junior and for his school, Bexley Grammar.
