Man hurls abuse from police station roof
A ROAD was closed after a man climbed onto the roof of Sidcup police station last night (March 18) and began screaming and shouting at people in the street below.
Firefighters were called to the incident in Main Road at 8.48pm after the man climbed up a drainpipe and on to the roof.
The man from the Sidcup area - who is known to have climbed on to the roof of the police station before - shouted obscenities at the passers-by and complained that no-one would give him a job after he came out of prison.
Police negotiators talked the man down from the roof and he was taken to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, by ambulance.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman says the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, is not thought to be seriously injured.
Sidcup High Street was closed until 11.30pm yesterday because of the incident.

Why did he get taken to hospital afterwards? Was he injured, hypothermic or did he need a brain scan? Sedatives? If you cause a public disturbance do you get taken to hospital these days? I'm very curious.
The poor old guy found sleeping in the freezing streets of Dartford recently was taken home before the police diverted to the hospital where he later died of hypothermia. This guy stands on the roof hurling abuse at the general public and gets whisked to hospital. Why? Jon Cheetham why did he go to hospital?

It's because of sympathetic do-gooder's like you that crime pays, people who hurl abuse and threatening behaviour to innocent passerbys get gentle kid glove treatment! Keep up the good work Nan, soon the whole country will turn bad!

[italic][bold]To nan bexley[/bold][/italic] .
Life isn't hard i have been a victim of crime more then once and let me tell you it's the people that cuase crimes that make it harder for innocent people i have had my car stolen and smashed up and i am unemployed and have been for years now and i have 2 kids, right and those little ignorant wont swear put so much strain on my family as i didn't have the money to replace the car.
Yeah people might say use public transport but with the way this country is going with its drinking coulture it is getting to the point where i wouldn't dream of taking my kids on the buses as there is so many people that have no respect out there that get on them.

But imagine if you'd made just one mistake/crime and had a family to support - and couldn't for the life of you get a job? The problem in our society is that we have too many people getting away paltry jail sentences for murdering people on the streets and on the other hand, genuine hard-working people who make just one mistake and get hounded - try walking down the street and carrying out a "minor" offence such as loud and disorderly (don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you are the type of person who would) - well if you did, you would be hounded by the courts and police - especially if you had previously had a "clean" record - and also, maybe lose your job. Yet on the other hand, we have awful yobs on the buses and on the streets who probably have a record as long as your own - and they get away with it, time and time again. I'm not saying the man on the roof was right and he probably feels embarrassed and terrible about it now but you don't know his story and sometimes things aren't fair.
