    Property 'among London's cheapest'
Willow Tree Walk's houses are among the cheapest in London
Willow Tree Walk's houses are among the cheapest in London

HOUSES in parts of Bromley are among the cheapest in the capital.

A report by housing website Mouseprice.com has shown that Willow Tree Walk, in Bromley, is the second cheapest street in London, with house prices averaging just under £100,000.

It falls slightly behind Leamington Close in Havering, which was named London's cheapest road.

Bromley had two streets in the top 10 for London.

Three streets in Bexley ranked among the 10 cheapest in London.

Bit of a pointless artical considerng it doesn't elaborate on what the top 10 are including Bexley boroughs roads.

I can only hazard a guess as to which roads are the cheapest and no doubt they're either in Erith, Slade Green or Thamesmead.
Posted by: In the know, Bexley borough on 8:42am Mon 17 Mar 08
Saltford Close in Erith average price £104,400.

In general terms though, prices in Bromley are just crazy. Over £200,000 for a 1 Bed seventies built flat with no soundproofing. Madness.

The trouble with these sorts of statistics is that they can be skewed by particular local circumstances, for instance obnoxious neighbours.

You might for instance have a real oddball in the road who thinks they are a Lord and spends all their time denigrating other people and calling for all and sundry to be whipped, flogged and put down.

They could also be the sort of person, who, when people are at their lowest ebb, having suffered a terrible misfortune, have stories made up about them to cast them in an unflattering light.

The person might also be a dreadful egomaniac and an insufferable bore with loathsome opinions on everything.

It would make it very difficult to sell your home as no normal person would want to live within a million miles of someone as unpleasant as that.

I note that some of the cheapest roads are in Bexley

I do read your blog and enjoy. But do not understand, what relevance this has to the article in question?
    Please advise.

I cant figure this out! Something has to be wrong - this is an alright part of town. Ok so its just off the main road, but behind it is the quite desirable Bromley North with all its local pubs and "villagy" feel to it. Somthing has to be wrong here - or it is skewed by not many sales - would love to see the sample size and see i that stats have been done properly.

Mark, as Let's Be Nice had the temerity to leave irrelevant comments about a Lord who resides in Bexley, Your Lord thought he might as well take the opportunity to advertise his latest blog.

To be honest, I think Let's Be Nice was hoping for a more barbed response from His Lord.

    Sorry to disappoint you, Let's.

Perhaps you should call on Nick Ferrari who also lives in Blackheath. I am sure he will accomodate you with his acid wit.

Charlie, I notice you used the word 'skewed'.

Let's Be Nice used the same unusual word just moments ago.

Are you a copycat or are you two the same person, I wonder.

    Your Lord, Erastus Theobald Piggott.

Charlie, have looked this information up and see that, for this price, you can get shared ownership in a one-bedroom retirement flat. Can't find any houses. If I am wrong then perhaps the News Shopper can let us know where these houses are.

Lord Biggott and all your alter-egos - why do you have to get involved by posting irrelevant rubbish and have to use virtually every story to advertise your blog.

Have a look at the website - its just launced!

So if it part ownerhip - then its not the "cheapest" property in london is it?

Rubbish stats - not thought through - all just to get some free publicity for thier website.
Posted by: Your Lord, Erastus Theobald Piggott, The Study on 12:18pm Mon 17 Mar 08
I agree Charlie, skewed is not an unusual word.

What is unusual is that two News Shopper readers know understand its meaning!

Andrew Reeves are selling some of these flats - no, not a free advert, just a chance to see the correct information if anyone wants to look it up.

No, as part-ownership it's not the "cheapest" and retirement flats are usually a bit cheaper anyway. Another rubbish, half researched "story".

Willow Tree Walk is a nice part of Bromley, about two minute walk from the Town Centre and surrounded by fairly substantial and pricy residences
