Spring into style this season with a short, sharp and sassy do that is guaranteed to get you noticed. Texture and movement are the key words for 2007 regardless of the length of your locks, though sleek chic works brilliantly for evenings. The Graham Webb International team reveals how to make your short story a sweet one.

Top model Erin O'Connor has sported one for seasons, Moschino, Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent and Hermés made them catwalk chic while showing their S/S 2007 collections and now celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley and Kylie are jumping on the Barnet bandwagon that is the crop.

But if you want to keep some length in your locks, do not despair, as the look is softer and more natural than in the its previous incarnations, and although strong geometric shapes are the epitome of modernity, ultra-feminine, layered cuts with length around the face are very on trend right now.

With a textured, bed-head' vibe easy to manage (as well as being easy on the eye), choose this look for every day.

Begin by scrunching mousse into the hair and rough dry. Then for a style with movement, spritz a light wax spray over the entire head and tweak into place. Alternatively, for a tousled, matte finish with strong, but re-workable hold, try Clynol's Construct moulding clay.

For evenings, think sleek chic. Prepare hair with a specially formulated smoothing shampoo and conditioner and then use Clynol's incredibly versatile Sleek frizz-free shine serum on either wet or dry hair to combat flyaway strands and give a glamorous sheen to styles.

Finally accessorise with some funky floral hairgrips, or beautiful, bejewelled slides. Short and sweet indeed!

Your questions answered

Q. I have just had my hair cut short, and although I love it, it always goes flat by the end of the day. Is there anything I can do to keep the volume?

A. This is a question I am often asked, and a lot of the time the problem occurs because the client washes and conditions his or her hair on a daily basis.

It is difficult to get used to if you are used to shampooing every day, but try leaving your locks for two, or even three days.

Use mattifying putty or clay to style, and if your roots feel greasy, try one of the hair powders now available to absorb excess oil.

Lastly, a quick blast of strong, yet flexible hold hairspray should do the trick!
