There are lots to choose from this year so here’s a handy guide to the Christmas markets taking place in south-east London:

Blackheath Christmas, November 19

Traders from all over south London and Kent will flock to Blackheath Halls, including food makers and designers selling a huge range of gifts. There will also be activities for children, a tombola, a raffle and an elephant mascot naming contest.

This promises to be a great day with the family. With every kind of craft stall imaginable, you will be well set to stumble across that unique Christmas gift.

Crafty Fox Market, Peckham, December 9 to10

There will be more than 50 carefully selected designers and makers at Crafty Fox Market. There will be a DJ all day and you can grab a mulled wine from the bar.

Cockpit Arts Open Studios, Deptford, December 1 to 3

This is the perfect chance to buy your Christmas presents from independent makers. There will be craft makers and independent designers to choose from along with a well selected group of Cockpit Arts alumni.

Lantern Parade & Lights On, Greenwich, November 22

Greenwich will be delivering the Christmas spirit with a magical lantern parade before turning the Christmas lights on. The lantern procession will start at 4pm in front of the Discover Greenwich Visitor Centre, before making its way down towards the market.

Herne Hill Market Christmas Fair, December 3

Herne Hill's weekly market will be transformed into a Christmas fair including local crafts, seasonal produce, vintage community stalls, hot food, live music and workshops.

East Dulwich Christmas Cracker, December 2

Lordship Lane and North Cross Road will host the annual Christmas Cracker. Local businesses and traders will be offering gifts and wares alongside entertainment for all the family and festive food.

The famous Peckham festive market in Warwick Gardens puts all the elements of Christmas in one place. Do your festive shopping and meet independent designers, makers, crafters and foodies as well as enjoy carols, street food and of course...mulled wine.

Brockley Christmas Market, December 9

The Brockley community will be coming together to give you all the festive cheer you need before Christmas. Locals will be selling food and crafts as well as mulled wine and maybe singing a carol or two.

Hopmas, Honor Oak Park, November 29

Santa Claus will be making a visit to the first ever Hopmas. There will also be lots of local food traders to choose from as well as plenty of gift ideas.

Croftmas, Crofton Park, December 6

The LND Beer Dispensary will be hosting a beer tent in the church grounds. There will be lots of food stalls and fun for all the family. Jam Circus will be organising soft play for the kids and the shop Bryan and Keegan will be face-painting. Don’t forget about all the vintage stalls and mulled wine.

Ladywell Christmas Market, December 6

There will be 19 stalls lining the road with crafts, food, and lots of offers and bargains from the nearby shops. This year they promise it will be bigger and better than ever.

Lewisham Arthouse Winter Fair, December 13

There is free-entry to this great building. There will be food and drinks as well as gallery and yard stalls, art and a DJ.

Let it Glow: Bexley’s Winter Lantern Parade - December 7 - 5pm to 7pm

Join Bexley's first Lantern Parade. A spectacle of light, featuring food stalls, music, an arts and crafts fair and late night shopping in Bexleyheath Broadway. The parade will take place along the pedestrianised area on the Broadway.
