After a month-long final during which hundreds of votes were cast for the 10 hopefuls, News Shopper's Child of the Year competition is now finished.
We are delighted to announce the winner of this year's contest to find the cutest kid in south-east London and north Kent is Yusuf Agdemir.
Five-month-old Yusuf, from Orpington, who entered the competition when we visited The Walnuts shopping centre in April, was the clear winner when all the phone and text votes were added up.
His proud mum Faye, who only decided to enter Yusuf into the contest when she walked past the Child of the Year stand, said it was probably her son's smile which had won the affections of voters.
"It's how he looks at you with his smile, he pulls you in," she said.
For winning the competition Yusuf gets £250 to spend at Nigel Barrett Photography in Bexleyheath, a framed 20in x 16in photo and a bundle of toys.
News Shopper’s Child of the Year contest has been a huge success after returning for 2009 following a two-year break.
We visited five shopping centres, taking pictures of hundreds of beautiful babies and adorable tots, and thousands of votes were cast in the quest to find 10 finalists and then the overall winner.
Many thanks to everyone who took part and who voted. Child of the Year 2010 will begin early next year when the search for the cutest kid begins all over again.
