Genevieve Achille is cleaning up in Forest HIll with Merry Maids venture
A FOREST Hill businesswoman is proving a domestic cleaning success as she looks to recruit new members to her team after only five months in the industry.
Genevieve Achille officially launched her Merry Maids business in October and has seen a dramatic increase in enquiries since the start of the year. Unable to manage the workload herself, she is now looking to expand her team and take on an extra pair of Merry Maids.
Genevieve said: “I really wasn’t expecting the business to take off as quickly as it did. I am working solidly, with the help of my husband, but have still had to turn enquiries away due to not having the extra staff.”
The Forest Hill businesswoman became a franchisee of the company after years as a loyal customer. She made the switch from customer to business owner after discovering there was no Merry Maids in Forest Hill following her move to the area.
Genevieve said: “I had been recommended to use Merry Maids when I lived in Clapham and when I did, I vowed to not use anyone else. Then during our move to Forest Hill, I required a cleaner to do a ‘move-in’ clean in the new house. When I enquired with Merry Maids, I was told there wasn’t anyone who worked in my area. I was adamant I wasn’t going to use anyone else.
“I had wanted to own my own business for quite some time, so this just seemed the perfect opportunity to launch my own Merry Maids in Forest Hill. I made my enquiries, started up the business and several months down the line, I am now looking for more staff.”
Genevieve is looking to initially employ a pair of Merry Maids, who will work as a team and undergo training to match company standards. Further additions to the team will be planned as business grows.
