THE great and the good of Orpington gathered at a glitzy awards event to celebrate their business successes as well as discuss how the town is changing.
More than 100 people turned out to celebrate the achievements of the area’s businesses and find out who had won the eight categories in the Orpington’s Finest Awards 2013.
All the winners and runners up had been voted for by their customers who appreciated their efforts to keep going through the tough economic times and develop products and services for the community.
The awards were organised by Orpington 1st, the business improvement district (BID) organisation working to make Orpington more prosperous.
Interim BID manager Naz Choudhury said: "The awards were not just a celebration of the fine businesses in Orpington but also an appreciation of the work they are doing.
"The word on the street is that Orpington is changing."
