Biggin Hill & Westerham Lions Club are again combining with other Lions Clubs in the South East to send aid to Gomel in Belarus As in previous appeals we are asking for shoeboxes (or any small strong boxes ) of goods to be donated. Lists of suggested items can be found at www.bigginlions.2ya.com

Shoebox Appeal 2013

Biggin Hill & Westerham Lions Club are again combining with other Lions Clubs in the South East to send aid to Gomel in Belarus As in previous appeals we are asking for shoeboxes (or any small strong boxes ) of goods to be donated. Alternatively boxes of bulk items, such as clothing, toiletries, stationery, toys, books and educational materials may be donated. Additionally, bicycles, computers, musical instruments, sewing machines and knitting machines are welcome.

A New President For The Lions

With effect from 1st July, Biggin Hill & Westerham Lions Club has a new President. At a Barbeque, to mark the change Malcolm Lowing handed over to John Scott, 62, a retired civil servent, from Melody Road, Biggin Hill.

Lions Clubs International, the World’s largest voluntary service club organisation is holding its Lions Awareness Week. From 9th to 17th October, many Lions from the 970 Clubs in towns, cities and villages throughout the UK and Ireland are working together to demonstrate some of the work that they do.

Biggin Hill & Westerham Lions Club - Shoebox Appeal - THANKS

A big thank you to all your readers who made contributions to our Shoebox Appeal. Your gererous donations have now undertaken the first leg of their journey. They have been taken to the Lions central warehouse in Gravesend to be amalgamated with goods collected by other Lions Clubs in the South East of England. From there they will make their journey to Gomel, Belarus in September.
