Bromley based 1230 The Women’s Company Hosts Successful "Evolution of Finance for BusinessWomen" Event On 19 March 2023 2024, locally based 1230 The Women’s Company (1230 TWC) hosted the highly anticipated "Evolution of Finance for Women" event at the Small Business Research & Enterprise Centre in the heart of London. The event, coinciding with International Women's Day celebrations, brought together a diverse group of women entrepreneurs, professionals, and enthusiasts to explore the evolving landscape of finance and entrepreneurship, both here in the UK and Spain with this hybrid event.

In an incredible display of resilience and determination, Carole Pyke, a two-time stroke survivor battling retrograde amnesia and more recently PTSD, achieved a remarkable milestone by delivering her first TEDx talk at TEDx Lewisham, hosted at Goldsmith University. Her talk, titled "Freedom in Forgetting: Memory Loss, Essence Found," captivated the audience and left a profound impression of hope and resilience.

Saturday 1 July saw Beckenham Green absolutely buzzing with music and fun  as the Ziggy Stardust Family Fun Day took place - a community celebration of former famous resident David Bowie. Two strokes, retrograde amnesia, and facial blindness, have done nothing to dull the sparkle of Carole Pyke who continues to inspire and encourage the world around her despite the challenges she faces every day. Winning the Most Inspirational Award at the Inspirational Women Awards in January, two days before her sixtieth birthday, and a warm embrace from Dame Emma Thompson is proof of this.

International Women’s Day is historically celebrated on 8 March and increasingly events stretch over the whole of March.
