Graffiti artist transforms “ugly” storage containers in park

PARK users are celebrating after a graffiti artist transformed “ugly” storage containers with a mural.

James Titchner from Aeroarts spent just five days improving two large green and black metal containers in Northbook Park, Lee.

The 31-year-old said: “Since I’ve done the art work there hasn’t been anyone tagging on the spaces around the park.

“The local kids were in there watching me paint and asking me about it.”

Graffiti artist transfors “ugly” storage containers in park Northbrook Park Community Group (NPCG) asked Aeroarts for the murals to brighten up the park for free.

Chairwoman Michelle Ball said: “It’s totally transformed the park. Everybody who has seen it has said it’s fantastic.

“It’s really made a difference.”

Graffiti artist transfors “ugly” storage containers in park NPCG was set up last year by eight-year-old Ryan Wells and his mum Ms Ball after writing to the Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock, about the run down park.

A new playground will be launched on August 20 from 2pm.
