BASTER JANET DORIS (December 13th 1937-February 27th 2015) Janet passed away after a brief illness, at home, on February 27th, 2015. A loyal and longstanding employee of Royal Insurance and a proud lifelong member of the Women's Royal Navy Service (the Wrens), Jan leaves behind a legion of family, friends, Godchildren, former colleagues and neighbours whose lives were made richer and more joyful by knowing her. A Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration of Janet's Life to be held at 1.30pm on Wednesday, June 24th 2015, Beckenham Crematorium, Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent. Reception to follow afterwards at Bromley Court Hotel, Bromley Hill, Bromley, Kent.

I also feared the worst when I didn't receive a Christmas card from Jan this year though not altogether surprised as on her 2014 card she had written that she was finding it difficult to 'keep her end up'. Jan had been a long-time friend of an aunt of mine as had Jan's mother.
Very sad to hear of Jan's passing.

When I didn't get a Christmas card from Jan this year I thought something was wrong. I googled her name and was so upset to find this obituary and that she had passed away.. RIP Jan xxx
