FOOTBALL: Star striker Igor Vetokele will be joined by Charlton defender Rhoys Wiggins at this month’s Bromley Addicks meeting on October 30.

The event takes place at Bromley Conservative Club, 27 Elmfield Road, Bromley, BR1.

Entry is for Bromley Addicks members only but people can join on the night for £5 adults, £3 seniors and students and U18s free.

AWARDS: Elite Gymin Orpington has been shortlisted for a fitness industry award, beating off strong competition to make the finals.

The club has been shortlisted in the best newcomer gym in the UK categoryat the National Fitness Awards, an annual event which recognises excellence and achievement in gyms throughout the country.

Trophies will then be handed out a glittering awards ceremony on November 28 at The Athena in Leicester, which will be hosted by boxing world champion Ricky Hatton and top TV presenter and fitness expert Caroline Pearce.

FOOTBALL: Gravesham Girls & Ladies FC U10s secured their first win of the season 4-3 at Larkfield Ladies with Keira Gwalter (2), Megan Crowson and Olivia Haynes all on target.

Keeper Chloe Bearman and striker Leah Wright were awarded players of the match but theye couldn’t prevent the U11s going down 3-0 against Maidstone.

Hannah Spooner grabbed a hat-trick as the U12s trounced Ridgewaye 7-0. Their other goals came from Brooke Hutson, Megan Ward, Becky Stephenson and Jadyn Bithrey.

But that was nothing compared to what the U15s achieved as they went goal crazy in a 19-0 drubbing of Sevenoaks.

It was a slightly closer encounter for the U16s in their narrow 1-0 success over Foots Cray Lions, secured thanks to Shannon Manning’s effort.

A valiant effort from the U18s and goals from Rachel Stevens (1) Daisy Wickenden (2) sadly wasn’t enough for the U18s in a 4-3 reverse at Deal Town Rangers.

CRICKET: On Sunday girls from Bexley District took on Sidcup CC U11 boys in an indoor kwik-cricket match at Erith Leisure Centre.

The boys scored 300, giving them a 62-run success over the girls (242).

KARATE: Forest Hill’s Nicole Arnold gained her Shodan black belt in Kyokushinkai karate this summer.   

Kyokushinkai karate is recognised as one of the toughest forms of the martial art and the Sydenham Girls Sixth Form  student benefited from being able to train with top instructors who helped prepare her both physically and mentally.

The 17-year-old has been training since the age of 10 at BKK Crystal Palace Karate Club, which is based at the National Sports Centre, and the hard training and dedication paid off when she passed a six hour exam and three day assessment.

Arnold has represented England both domestically and in competitions across Europe.

She is now preparing for her first knockdown competitions as a cadet with events coming up in England, Wales and Belgium in the next few months.

RUGBY: Old Colfeians made the long journey to Southampton to meet Tottonians in the first round of the RFU Intermediate Cup, only to suffer a heavy 55-21 defeat.

MARTIAL ARTS: Semtex Gym member Nick Baker is the new light middleweight ringmasters champion.

After training with the Welling gym for nine years, Baker has been awarded the prestigious black belt, a rare honour.
