Shaun Williams believes it is still all to play for in Millwall’s bid to avoid relegation despite being left disheartened by Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Blackburn.

Millwall conceded in stoppage time against a 10-man Blackburn on Saturday as they were pegged back having led twice.

Two controversial penalties were scored by Millwall, the first by Williams after Grant Hanley was sent off for a tackle on Steven Morison, and then Simeon Jackson when he was taken down in the box by Michael Keane in the 87th minute.

But Blackburn equalised twice as Michael Keane’s header made it 1-1 before Josh King secured a last-gasp point for the 10-man visitors in the 93rd minute.

Williams said: “It was disappointing after we’d taken the lead twice, which we don’t normally do, and then to see it all go away at the end is very disappointing, I have to say.

“After knowing we were so close to three points, and all the hard work, to come away with a point it’s two points dropped.

“But there is still a lot of points to play for and anyone can take points off anyone as you’ve seen, so it’s going to go down to the wire.

“It won’t be settled in the next couple of games.

“I think we still believe we can do it.

“We are not going to stop until the last game of the season and hopefully we can turn it around.

“Everyone is quite disappointed and we were quite exhausted as well, but the fight has not gone.

“We just need as many as possible. We’ve got to win a lot of games out of the last seven.”

Williams, who signed from MK Dons in January for an undisclosed fee, admitted he had a mixed game against Blackburn.

“I’ll put my hands up for the first goal, I was marking the man that scored and I slipped before they took it,” he added.

“The second one was a goalmouth scramble but he had too much time and space to have a free shot.”

News Shopper: Williams not throwing in towel yet on Millwall's survival chances

Millwall face a trip up to Nottingham Forrest this Saturday as they look to gain the vital points they need for survival.

Despite poor performances of late they still sit just two points off safety, although 21st-placed Charlton do have three games in hand. “Every game is a must-win now,” admitted Williams.

“Nottingham Forrest have slipped up against a few lower half teams so hopefully we can be one of them as well.

“I think you’ve got to take every game as it comes.

“Derby were in form and we beat them so we have to look to win every game we can and not settle for anything but.”
