Fifteen new Police Community Support Officers have been welcomed into Kent Police after successfully finishing their initial training.

They met with Kent Police and Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes, and the Kent Police Deputy Chief Constable Paul Brandon on Friday (August 8) as part of a passing out parade.

The new Police Community Support Officers will serve communities across the Kent - including manning the Mobile Police Stations - which were one of the commissioner’s manifesto promises to boost visible community policing.

She said: ‘The people who work for Kent Police are what make it, in my opinion, the best force in the land.

"These new officers will be an integral part of that, serving our communities and helping to keep us safe.

‘The force’s investment in these new officers is absolutely money well spent."
