Armed police stopped a car in Catford, smashed into it and arrested two men in an afternoon operation, witnesses say.

Shocked drivers and children outside looked on as the police stopped the vehicle in Bromley Road at around 3.30pm on Friday (August 1).

A spokesman for the Met Police would not reveal why the car was stopped.

He said: "The stop was part of an ongoing investigation.

"Two men were arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently in custody.

"No shots were discharged during the incident and there were no injuries.

"At this time, and for operational reasons, we are not prepared to discuss the investigation further."

What is unusual, it said the nasty old cops scared the kiddies on their way home from school! Rare at the best of times, let alone in the school holidays. Take it that is what is known as sensationalism on the part of the 'journalist'?

Where does it say scared kiddies? Shocked was reported and then the children could have been secondary school kids as there are a couple near to Bromley Road! In which case that incident would probably be an every day sight to them and water off a duck's back so to say. The sham gets more like the Bronx every day.
