A mysterious plane - allegedly operated by the Met Police for surveillance purposes - has been spied circling Lewisham and Blackheath.
The Met has refused to confirm or deny any involvement with the craft, which was tracked by plane spotters moving for several hours around Lewisham, Eltham and Blackheath before suddenly disappearing.
It had no recognisable call sign but had been travelling at a height of 10,000ft between 10am and 12.30pm on Tuesday (July 22).
And plane buffs believe it was a Cessna F406 Caravan, which supposedly has the ability to intercept telephone calls and eavesdrop on conversations.
A spokeswoman for the Met Police said they would neither confirm or deny the plane was operated by them.
