A lady who suffers from arthritis‎ has donated 72 cardigans and 21 hats she knitted herself to the Premature Baby Unit at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.

Even though Mary Smith, 74, has pain in her hands she manages to create a cardigan and a hat each evening.

The lovely lady from Wrotham has been donating the gifts for six years.

A spokesman for Darent Valley Hospital said: "Mary says that she loves knitting for the babies; it keeps her occupied and her hands supple. Thank you Mary for this wonderful donation."
