Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in the multiplex anymore – Chislehurst Open Air Cinema is returning this summer with a screening of The Wizard of Oz.

Get your red shoes ready because dressing up is encouraged (but not essential) at the screening of a remastered sing-a-long version of the Hollywood classic on the common on Saturday, July 12.

Alongside the film, there will be Oz-themed crafts and activities for your little munchkins as well as live jazz, food and drink.

The organising committee’s Donna Bompas said: “This event is about bringing people of all ages together to have fun and to enjoy the precious green space we have on our doorstep in Chislehurst.
“It helps us appreciate how lucky we are to have the Commons and is a great way to raise funds to preserve it.”

Get tickets in advance (£10 adults, £5 children) from JdM in the High Street, Higgs Butchers in Royal Parade or go online at visitchislehurst.org.uk or Chislehurstvillagenews.co.uk. On the day, tickets cost £12.50 adults and £7.50 children and the doors open at 7.30pm.
