Giving a new meaning to their party's name, Lewisham Greens joined a pro-cannabis rally in Hyde Park at the weekend.
The 420 pro-cannabis rally was organised by London Cannabis Clubs and attempted to highlight marijuana prohibition in Britain.
And Lewisham activists joined in the fun, highlighting their party's support for the immediate decriminalisation of cannabis possession, trade and cultivation.
Lewisham Green Party council candidate for Evelyn Ward Dave Plummer said: "Cannabis prohibition criminalises young people, encourages a shadow economy and, most importantly, denies people of a drug which can alleviate the symptoms of many illnesses and disabilities.
"Cannabis is also well known to help combat of the side effects of chemotherapy.
"It's tragic that our government continues to put the financial interests of pharmaceutical companies and tabloid rhetoric before the interests of individuals and scientific evidence."
