A 17-year-old boy rushed to Kings College Hospital after being shot in the chest with an air rifle in woodland in Gravesend on Sunday.

Two ambulances and police were called at 5.30pm to the scene just off Church Road.

An air ambulance was also scrambled but the boy was taken by land ambulance to London where he remains in a serious condition.

An 18-year-old from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.
