Greenwich Police are appealing for information after a moped driver’s road rage in Eltham sparked a serious assault and car theft.

The attack happened after a 19-year-old driver beeped his horn at a moped which was being driven erratically and forcing him to stop along Bromhedge on February 21 at around 4.30pm.

The moped driver reacted by smashing the wing mirror of the victim’s Skoda Fabia before riding off into Chapel Farm Road.

The victim, who followed him to exchange details, was then seriously assaulted by the moped driver and two other men in Chapel Farm Road.

One of the attackers stole the car, which contained the victim’s mobile phone and an Apple Mac, while the other two fled on the moped.

The first suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, around 6ft 2 ins high, of slim build, with a spotty complexion, corn row styled hair and wearing a black hat and dark jeans.

The second suspect is described as a black man, in his late teens, around 5ft 6 ins high, with short hair, wearing blue jeans.

Detective constable Andy Brackley, in charge of the investigation, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who is able to assist with our ongoing enquiries.

"If you have any information, please contact us in confidence.”

Anyone with information is asked to call DC Brackley on 020 8 284 9573 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 55 111.
