Music and sunshine were at full blast on the weekend as 40,000 people turned out to rock the Dartford Festival.

The huge numbers at Central Park watched on as Toyah, The Hoosiers and pop-rockers 4th Impact took to the stage.

Buster Bloodvessel from the rude boy 80s Ska band Bad Manners was forced to pull out of the festival due to illness, but in their place The Blockheads played out to a sun-baked audience.

Across the two days, local talents TailBlock, The Aim and Suburbia took to the stage to complete the festival’s busy line-up.

Dartford Council leader, Jeremy Kite, said: “The festival has changed a bit over the years and we’ve worked hard to deliver a good mix of community groups, local charities, brilliant local performers and some of the country’s best loved live bands.

“The number of people attending just keeps on rising and we get lots of comments on how well organised it is and how it has a great ‘family feel’.

“We’re supporting more and more community events in and around our neighbourhoods but the Dartford Festival is a fantastic showpiece for the whole town.”

Dartford Festival 2016 was presented by Dartford Council in association with FULL.
