A woman killed after being hit by a car in a busy Gravesend street has been named as Stela-Maria Hurmuzache-Anpohe.

The 34-year-old from Gravesend was hit by a Mercedes in Milton Road on November 15 and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

An inquest in to Ms Hurmuzache-Anpohe's death was opened by senior coroner Roger Hatch at Gravesend Old Town Hall in High Street yesterday (November 24).

A post-mortem revealed that Ms Hurmuzache-Anpohe died from “severe head injuries”.

Floral tributes have since been left at the scene of the accident.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.

A provisional date for a full inquest in to Ms Hurmuzache-Anpohe’s death has been set for March 23 next year.
