Rock icons Queen will are getting to bring their kind of magic to Greenwich next year with American Idol Adam Lambert.

The rockers will play a series of shows across Europe next year, including the O2 Arena on January 17.

Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen first linked up with singer Adam Lambert to perform We Are The Champions on the finale of American Idol in 2009 and have since played live together a number of time, including a world tour this year.

Guitarist Brian May said: “We have a very interesting set design.

“It's big and daring. We're going to do it to the max.”

Drummer Roger Taylor added: “Each time we've worked with Adam with our music, he's just the most incredible front man.

“He's sensational. He has this amazing range, 'cause Freddie had a great range. Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality. It is very comfortable.”

While they perform together live, neither Queen or Adam Lambert have hit the studio together and both have their own records in the pipeline.

Roger Taylor and Brian May are working on the impending release of Queen Forever, due out on November 10, which is a compilation including previously unreleased material recorded with legendary front man Freddie Mercury.

Adam Lambert, meanwhile, is in the final stages of writing and recording his third album.
