Lewisham Police have today revealed which residential streets were targeted in a code-named operation to tackle drug-dealing, burglary and harassment.

The operation, called Yarra, saw police make a total of 45 arrests in just one month in the crackdown on prolific offenders across the borough.

Warrants were executed in Stoneycroft Close, Kimbolton Close, Geraint Road, Shroffold Road, Farley Road, Burghill Road, Perry Vale, Overdown Road, Inflemere Road, Bellingham Road, Brangbourne Road and In Greenwich, Bunpton Road.

A total of 250kg of cannabis has so far been recovered together with a quantity of class A drugs.

Arrests have been made for a variety of offences including robbery, affray and GBH.

Four men who have committed a string of violent robberies around Greenwich and Blackheath have also been arrested after being identified by officers from CCTV footage.

Officers also conducted a number of weapon sweeps in Mayow Park and Hyndewood, Forest Hill.

Lewisham Borough Commander Russell Nyman said: “Our intelligence-led patrols together with warrants have resulted in the arrest of a number of individuals who have been committing crime and bringing disruption to the borough.

“Operation Yarra will continue to target a number of areas across Lewisham in the coming weeks with police officers both in plain clothes and uniform working to disrupt criminal activities.”
