A Gravesend schoolboy's cancer battle is inspiring his family to raise money to fight the disease.

A tumour was found in Levi Smith's back when he was just five-years-old and the cancer spread to his neck and his brain, despite having radiotherapy.

The 14-year-old, attends Thamesview School in Thong Lane, Gravesend, three days a week despite continuing to fight the illness.

Aunt Jolene Morris, who works in Starbucks in Bexleyheath Broadway Shopping centre has been inspired by Levi's experience.

The 35-year-old, who lives on Elm Road, Gravesend, said: "Levi had a scan a few weeks ago which showed the brain tumour is no longer active but the one in his back still is.

"He’s also doing quite well academically considering he’s missed so much school because of his illness.

"He’s quite amazing really and a real inspiration. Since he was very young he’s known nothing but being ill, but he’s always been very brave and just gets on with his life."

Jolene is taking part in the Shine Night Walk on September 27 to raise money for charity Cancer Research UK.
