More than a hundred gypsy horses and carts descended on Bexley for an annual parade.

The decorated traps massed in a field by Andy Scott's giant horse sculpture in Belvedere ready for their journey across the borough.

They set off at 1pm on Saturday (July 26) before the procession made its way through Slade Green, Erith and Barnehurst before returning to Belvedere, stopping off halfway through to allow the horses to rest.

At the end of the trip a party was held with stalls, food and music.

Participants travelled as far away as Land's End to take part.

Roseyrose Morgan, 37, was joined by her uncle Albert Jones in a trap pulled by her Appaloosa horse Moorland.

She said: "I loved it, it was an absolutely amazing experience. "It's something I'd like to do more often.

"It was a social gathering for meeting people I hadn't seen in a long time and getting involved with the horses as well."

I saw this on Saturday coming through Northumberlland Heath and it certainly was a sight to see with all the horse and traps.
