The latest Forest School leaders - whose aim is to get youngsters across Bromley borough passionate about nature - have graduated.

There are now 80 leaders from 38 schools, trained at Bromley Environmental Education Centre at High Elms (BEECHE).

Forest Schools is adapted from Scandinavian Nature Nurseries - set up to allow children regular access to the outdoors, with the philosophy of child-led learning, where the role of the adult is to observe and facilitate rather than lead.

It's an idea that has been found to improve confidence, self esteem and independence in children as well as a respect for their outdoor environment.
