A 21-year-old Deptford Mercedes driver who killed a Forest Hill man by crashing into his vehicle has been sentenced to seven years.

At around 5am on March 24, Jamal Bonsu was driving his Mercedes B180 with two women in the back when it smashed into a Saab on the Old Kent Road.

The Saab's driver, 49-year-old Robert Aliker of Devonshire Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bonsu's companions, both in their 20s, suffered only minor injuries.

The Leathwell Road resident pleaded guilty at Woolwich Crown Court on May 9 to causing the death of 48-year-old Robert Aliker by dangerous driving.

And yesterday (July 3) he was sentenced to seven years.
