The Eagles will be looking pretty fly in their new sponsorless, distinctly Barcelona-like kit.

New manufacturer Macron has created a “tailor made”, traditional shirt for the new season.

The home shirt is a classic with thinner red and blue in vertical stripes and yellow trim.

The away shirt reverts to traditional yellow. The bold and traditional design is softened with a baby blue trim.

Chairman Steve Parish told the club’s website: “We are delighted to launch our partnership with Macron with two classic home and away Crystal Palace kit designs for 2014/15.

“I feel both the style and fit of the kit, training and casual wear really reflect the mood and excitement surrounding the club and look forward to working with Macron for many years to come."

How does the kit rate?

The 2014/2015 kits are simple and classic, so are likely to be popular. The loss of the sash on the away kit will probably irk some, though.

Here’s what some fans thought of this year’s effort on Twitter:

Whatever your views on these shirts, surely there is little doubt that they beat these recent efforts from 2007-8 and 2003-4?

2003/4 - were stripey sleeves too much in? That away kit looks familiar (but bigger)!

2007/8 - a tasty away kit, but what's with the stripey bib on the home shirt?
