PUPILS in Woolwich have celebrated the opening of their brand new library.
Mulgrave Primary School in Rectory Place, Woolwich, opened the library last week and marked it with a visit from Mayor of Greenwich Councillor David Grant.
The facility includes around 2,000 books and runs on a computerised lending system similar to those used in public libraries.
A performance from the school choir marked the opening and children have been holding literacy activities there all week.
The library was funded with a £10,000 grant from the Foyle Foundation charity.
Librarian Ceri McDonald said: "It would not have been possible to open the library without their support.
"The children absolutely can't wait to get in there. They love it."
