James Brokenshire MP welcomes introduction of Sunday B12 bus route in Joydens Wood
1:22pm Thursday 21st March 2013 in News By Alan Woods
OLD Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire says he is “delighted” the popular B12 bus route will now offer a Sunday service.
Transport for London (TfL) has announced it will provide a new half hourly service for the route running between Joydens Wood and Erith, starting as soon as April 28.
Following years of campaigning, the bus is proposed to stop in Joydens Wood, Coldblow and areas of Northumberland Heath.
The bus is planned to run clockwise around the Joydens Wood loop before noon and anti-clockwise during the afternoon.
James Brokenshire MP said: “I'm delighted TfL has now responded positively to calls from the community to introduce Sunday services on the full B12 route.
“It will significantly improve access for a part of Bexley that doesn't currently have any public transport available on Sundays.
“This news is a great credit to the Coldblow Residents Association and everyone who has doggedly campaigned for this change over a number of years.”
The new route is subject to a TfL consultation, which ends on April 17.
