Cruel intentions: The 90s Musical is near the end of its successful run at the Other Palace theatre so now’s the time to see this must-see musical!
From the producer of Heathers the Musical, Cruel Intentions is a jukebox musical based on the 1999 film Cruel Intentions.
The musical revolves around two wealthy stepsiblings Sebastian Valmont and Kathryn Merteuil who engage in a bet to try manipulating the headmaster’s daughter Annette Hargrove. However, along the way the more he starts to get to know her, the more he realises she’s not so bad as he initially thought…
What I loved about this musical was the setlist which featured songs like ‘Just a girl,’ ‘I want it that way’ and ‘No scrubs.’ The songs they put within the musical also linked closely with the action which made you feel like they were made to be together.
However, my favourite part must be the audience interaction which reminded me of Heathers because the audience really felt involved with the plot like we were other students at the school. Furthermore, the audience could sing along since it was a jukebox which made the musical just that extra special.
I would highly recommend you see Cruel Intentions The 90s Musical at the Other Palace especially if you’re a Heathers fan because the venue and the plot are both just as fun! So go see Cruel Intentions before 19th May!
