A nursery in Petts Wood has received its second 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted, with the watchdog praising it as a place where children can "celebrate their uniqueness".

Rainbow Day Nursery in Southborough Lane, Bromley, was given the highest rating following an inspection on April 3.

The nursery, which caters for up to 62 children aged between 0 to 4 years old, focuses on early learning and development.

Inspectors found that the Petts Wood nursery staff teach children about diversity in "inspirational ways", with cultural, physical, and social differences being a daily part of learning.

The report, published on May 7, said: "All children feel valued and celebrate their uniqueness.

"They show high levels of respect and tolerance for others."

The Ofsted inspectors also noted how staff at Rainbow Day Nursery have "extremely high expectations" of the children.

According to the watchdog, the nursery environment is "meticulously" designed for children of all ages to excel, with babies learning to crawl quickly, and to develop their physical skills.

The report added: "Children are highly motivated learners, who are keen to achieve their best.

"Outcomes for all children are excellent."

The nursery, which is open five days a week, all year round except for one week, received a special praise from inspectors for how staff work with parents to identify developmental leaps and support at-home learning.

Children's behaviour was therefore said to be "exemplary", with older children sharing their skills with babies, playing sensitively and showing "high levels of emotional maturity".

Rainbow Day Nursery also received high praise for its curriculum.

Inspectors found that managers have created a curriculum that is "highly ambitious", providing children with a wide range of rich experiences.

Staff at the nursery carefully adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each child.

The report said: "Parents say that their children love coming to nursery.

"They say that the nursery provides exceptional care."

Managers were also praised by inspectors for providing "bespoke training" for staff, with a strong focus on child development and creating opportunities for all children to excel.

Staff evidently appreciate the support from managers, with the report saying that "staff say that they love working at the nursery and they know that their wellbeing is a high priority to managers".

Moreover, Rainbow Day Nursery showed an "open and positive culture around safeguarding", which prioritises children's interests and safety.

Ofsted inspectors concluded: "All children are extremely happy.

"They celebrate who they are and what they can do."
